The challenge is commencing this Friday, October the 29th, as we are on our trip to Ossington and Queen in Downtown, Toronto. As many may know (don't worry if you didn't know; I didn't know either 'til this challenge arose) this is a popular vintage shopping area. People, including celebrities, from all over the world come down there just to go vintage shopping. Our challenge is to find an article of clothing in one of the stores for each of our group members. Each item has to correspond to the rest of the group members' items, as we have to create a scene using them next Tuesday. Also, here's the tricky part, it has to be under ten dollars. Pricing isn't bad in some of the stores, but we have to be able to find something that's stellar and eye-popping that will stand out in our performance.
To add on to this extreme load, while on this escapade, we have to capture a story in some way and turn it into a piece of art. It can be a visual, like a photo, video montage, blog, or a performance piece, like a spoken word or a song. To inspire this story, we are to observe the surroundings in the area, especially the patients from the mental institutions and the homeless and try to capture their emotions into a story of some sort.
This should be stressful & fun.
Let the games begin.
